LICENCE FOR FOREIGN HAMS

Guidelines for International Radio Amathers to Obtain Work Permit to work in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The B&H has accepted all conditions under which international radio amathers who are citizens of CEPT member countries are able to work in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to this protocol there are two classes:

  1. CEPT1 (code class - obligation to work under knowledge of CW)
  2. CEPT2 (no code class - no obligation to know CW)

Each signatory country of CEPT is obligated to coordinate their classes in accordance with the two CEPT classes stated above. In addition these international amathers are required to obtain a CEPT license in addition to the national class license they already possess.

A CEPT class license is required only if the radio amather is working abroad- if the operator is working in his or her owns country he/she needs to follow the national regulations of that country.

The following is a list of conditions that the international radio operators must follow:

1. For CEPT license holders who will work in BiH for a period of three months or less they only need to present their valid work permit for ARS work with their radio equipment to the customs officers when entering the country. It is not necessary for them to also obtain a work permit from the BiH charge ministry. If the radio operator wants to obtain a work permit from the charge ministry, he/she may request one free of charge from the BiH charge ministry. However, we repeat, that it is not necessary for him/her to do so. During this short-term work period the radio operator may use the call sign: T9/ (personal sign).

2. For CEPT license holders who will be working in BiH for a period longer than three months they are obligated to obtain a work permit from the BiH charge ministry. To do so they must follow this procedure: First the radio operator must submit his/her request to work. He/she must include: personal details with specified ID information and a permanent address. If it is possible, it would be beneficial if the operator could provide the exact location where he/she will be working and in addition the list of the specific radio equipment he/she will use. Together with this request he/she needs to also submit a copy of his/her passport and CEPT license. After the radio operator receives the permit to work in BiH, he or she may apply for a six-month extension. The radio operator may request this extension free of charge from the BiH charge ministry. If the extension is granted the radio operator may continue to use the call sign: T9/ (personal sign).

3. For no-CEPT license holders who belonging to the member country and who will be working in BiH regulation procedure to get work permit is the same as in section 2.

4. According of delivery call signs in B&H series T98 XXX (three letters in suffix in accordance to personal choice) is delivered for work to international operators in B&H. The right of heving this permit work has also the radio operators from memberships of CEPT and from countries who are not members. For registering this work permit operator must to submit: Request for delivering call sign with ID details, location details and list of specification of equipment. With request he needs to submit also the copy of passport and license. It is recommendable to propose and to submit the international permission for work called "HAREC" for citizen's members of CEPT. For issuing the call sign it is necessary to pay 60 KM (60 DM or 75$). This permission is valid for period of 6 months, and is possible to extend for next 6 months.
